CP170: Thank You with Pleasant Poppies
I loved the sketch from this week's CardPatterns sketch challenge. It was so beautiful and very inspirations. Plus, it gave me an opportunity to use the Stampin' Up! Pleasant Poppies stamp. I love this background stamp. It is so pretty. I also did some collage stamping to create the background paper. I used Nature Walk from Stampin' Up! to do the collage stamping. I really like how it turned out.

CP162: To Heal Your Heart
This is the card I made for the CardPatterns sketch challenge. Most of the color challenges I participated in this week were bright colors with a lot of saturated colors. I decided to switch things up with this sketch challenge.
I wanted to create a card that could be used for a sympathy card. I'm glad to say I don't have anyone to give it to. But, it's nice to have these on hand when the occasion arises. I put a lot of details in this card. I also used the Ranger Distress Inks for the first time on this card. I love how they blend together. Another technique on this card was cracked glass. This is one of my favorite distress techniques. It takes a bit of time since I don't have the UTEE. I used clear SU embossing powder. I think I did about 10 coats! It may have been overkill but I never know how much is needed to create the effect.

CP160: Mothers Day with Bordering on Romance
This is the card I made for the Card Patterns sketch challenge. I really love the marker layering technique. It is so much fun and really easy to do. I'm no an artist in the traditional sense so shading kind of baffles me. But, I swear, anyone can do the marker layering technique with Stampin' Write Markers.

CP159: Imagine the Possibilities
This is the card I made for the Card Patterns sketch challenge. Super cute sketch! I tried a new technique for the flowers. I took vellum paper and applied ink with a sponge dauber. I then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heated it up. It created a transparent, glassy finish. Finally, I punched the flowers out with the 5-Petal and Boho Blossoms Punch. They look a lot better in person. I'm definitely going to do this again. I'm think of something with a butterfly would be super pretty.

CP157: Blueberry Fresh Vintage
Here's my sweet little card I made for Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Challenge. I'm on a mission to use up some of my Designer Series Paper. For this card I used the Blueberry Crisp DSP from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I've got DSP coming out of my ears.
I did have to deviate a bit from the sketch. By the time I got all of the elements on the page it just looked a little busy. So, I started pulling off a few elements until I was happy with the card. I usually try to stick pretty close to the sketch but I didn't like my finished card initially. I took a made a few creative decisions and I am now happy with how my card turned out.
