cQc174: Imagine the Possibilities Swallowtail

It's been awhile since I have done any crafting or cardmaking. I got super busy with work and over the past year I have been focused on my health and losing weight. I started traveling a lot for work and something had to give. Unfortunately, I gave up crafting for a bit. My travel schedule has lessened so I'm looking forward to getting back to crafting. To top it off, over the past year I have lost close to 70 pounds. Hooray for me!

This card was made for the colourQ challenge. This week's colors were Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso and Vanilla. I substituted Whisper White for the Vanilla. To add a little bit more pizazz to the card, I used Frost White Shimmer Paint and tinted it with Raspberry Ripple reinker. I then splattered the card with a bit of it.

Mix1: Marble Serene Silhouettes

This is the card I made for the new Splitcoast Challenge, "Mix-ability". This week's challenge was to use two different mediums with two different challenges -- one shiny and one matte. Click here to visit the challenge.

Although it is coming through well, the background has a shiny finish. I created the background paper by taking strips of watercolor paper and crumpling them up. Then I applied color to the paper using reinkers and water. Once they dried I used Modge Podge with a glossy finish to adhere them. The matte finish is the piece that uses the Window Frames Framelits from Stampin' Up! and stamped with Serene Silhouettes. To highlight the matte finish I sponged the layer in Island Indigo.

2TC42: Everything and the Kitchen Sink

This is the card I made for the Twisted Tuesday challenge. This week the challenge was Free For All. Click here to visit the challenge site.

I'm calling it "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" because of the amount of stamp sets I used and the number of embellishments. Fun card to make. I made this card for my boss. She loves cowboy boots. I also used the chalkboard technique. I had never done this before. It was easier than I thought it would be.
