PP88: So Grateful

This is the card I made for the Paper Players sketch challenge. I used the Stained Glass technique with vellum paper. A lot of fun and cute results. Also, I learned a new word today. What is the word you ask? Apothecary. The sentiment I used for this card is from SU Apothecary Art stamp set. To be honest, I had no idea what the word meant. I Googled it. Pretty interesting. Here's the link to Wikipedia if you are interested.

JUGS129: Notecard Set with Choose Your Own Sentiment

This is a note card set that I made for the Just Us Girls challenge. I had such a great time making this card set. I already have in mind who I'm giving it too! I've never made a note card set with a coordinating box. I have always wanted to but never made the time. This was so much fun. I am going to do this again, soon!

The set comes with six cards and matching envelopes. The sentiment on the front can be swapped out for what you want.

This photo shows the entire set minus the envelopes. I just couldn't fit them in the photo. As you can see there are five additional sentiments that just need to be adhered to the card front. I also made a petal envelope to store the sentiments.

I really cannot wait to give this to my friend. I think she is going to be really excited!

This is a close up of the box front. I love the little scalloped circle roses. Whoever came up with that idea is a genius.

This is what the card looks like with the sentiment. I love all the layers and texture.

In this photo you can see all the details of the card.

And, here's a close up of the little petal envelope I made to hold the sentiments.

Now for all the details....

CP157: Blueberry Fresh Vintage

Here's my sweet little card I made for Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Challenge. I'm on a mission to use up some of my Designer Series Paper. For this card I used the Blueberry Crisp DSP from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. I've got DSP coming out of my ears.

I did have to deviate a bit from the sketch. By the time I got all of the elements on the page it just looked a little busy. So, I started pulling off a few elements until I was happy with the card. I usually try to stick pretty close to the sketch but I didn't like my finished card initially. I took a made a few creative decisions and I am now happy with how my card turned out.

This week's colourQ challenge was a tough one for me. The colors were Glorious Green, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Going Grey and Ivory. I like the color green but I rarely use it as a main color in my cards. Typically I use it as accent color for my floral themed cards.

I watercolored the monsters from the Make a Monster stamp set from Stampin' Up! I watercolored them using the SU watercolor crayons. This is the first time I have used the watercolor crayons. They were pretty easy to use!

MOJO232: Friends with Kindness Matters

Here's my Mojo Monday card! This was a fun little card to make. Kindness Matters is one of my favorite stamp sets right now. I got it as part of a Sale-A-Bration order for free! I really think Sale-A-Bration is my favorite time of the Stampin' Up! year. Well, actually, it is a close second to when the new Idea Book and Catalog comes out.

I've been experimenting with using the Tasteful Trim die to make interesting elements on my card. I layered several pieces together to create a unique element on my card.

I believe I have Word Verification turned off. If you leave a comment and notice that it is still on, please let me know. Thanks!
